Crossovers are becoming increasingly vital to automakers' bottom lines, and these days, not even
Citroën can ignore their prevalence in certain markets. The French automaker offers the
C4 Aircross and
C-Crosser in Europe - both based on
Mitsubishi architecture - but will soon roll out a larger crossover specifically for the Far East.
The production model was previewed by the
Wild Rubis concept which Citroën showcased at the
Shanghai Auto Show this past April, although the final version will be less radical. Tipped to be called DS7 or DSX7, the production version of the Wild Rubis will join the brand's DS line of premium offerings and will be manufactured in Shenzhen through parent company PSA's joint venture with Changan Automobile Group that already produces the
DS5 for local markets.
