Nissan Leaf EV to be Part of Hertz Rental Fleet
Getting consumers to try something new, and something that they might be wary about is always a difficult hurdle to overcome. It is especially difficult to overcome if what you’re trying to get consumers to buy costs in the tens of thousands of dollars and might leave them stranded by the side of the road
This could be one of the shrewdest marketing moves in recent memory, or it might just be pure happenstance, but Nissan will be partnering with Hertz rental cars so you can try out their hotly anticipated Leaf EV Hertz is adding the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle to its rental fleets in Europe and the United States next year, and the announcement from the world’s largest rental agency follows Nissan’s announcement that it will begin taking reservations for the Leaf starting April and have them in your driveways by December The partnership with Nissan seals Hertz’s commitment to green-car rentals and firmly demonstrates our mission to advancing zero-emission mobility on a global scale,” said Mark P. Frissora, Hertz chairman and CEO Hertz did not give out details as exactly when or where the cars will be available, but you’d have to guess that they will be on hand to rent in the same markets where Nissan is working with Ecotality and others to develop a public charging infrastructure Our partnership with Hertz is an important step towards our goal of promoting widespread acceptance of electric vehicles. Together with our alliance partner Renault, we aim to be the leader in zero-emission vehicles which we believe are one of the best solutions for sustaining the growing need for transport across the globe,” said Toshiyuki Shiga, Nissan’s chief operating officer So we have Hertz, Nissan a Renault all working together on EVs, charging and rentals in both America and Europe Hmmm, sounds like a heck of a way to sell a product until you really have to sell it |
