The shark has finally surfaced - the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/6+series">2012 BMW 6 Series coupe</a> has officially arrived. Its lines are tighter, its bite is more potent and it's heading to your local <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/make/bmw/">BMW</a> dealership sometime this fall. Under the hood sits the same 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that our man <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/02/07/2012-bmw-6-series-convertible-first-drive-review-road-test/">Chris Paukert sampled in the convertible</a>. It produces 400 horsepower between 5,500 rpm and 6,400 rpm, and a stout 450 pound-feet of torque from 1,750 rpm up through 4,500 rpm.<br />
<br />
That power is managed by an eight-speed automatic transmission, which can be controlled manually via a pair of paddle-shifters. Should you prefer to row your own gears in the more traditional manner, a six-speed manual gearbox will also be offered. The engine and both transmission options help propel the car from 0-60 miles per hour in just 4.8 seconds and on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph.<br />
<br />
In the cabin, the 2012 6 Series Coupe is filled with BMW's latest gadgetry. A 10.2-inch high-definition screen serves as the nexus of visual information. This modern Sixer boasts available Lane Departure Warning, Active Blind Spot detection, Rear and Top View Cameras, a Parking Assistant and a three-dimensional heads-up display.<br />

This is all just the tip of the iceberg for the 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe. Don't break out the checkbook just yet, because pricing hasn't been announced. A few videos of the new <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/tag/bmw%20i8">BMW i8</a> undergoing winter testing have managed to make their way to the web courtesy of YouTube. The clips surfaced after our <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/08/spy-shots-bmw-i8-spotted-winter-testing/">spy photographers</a> managed to lay eyes on the green supercar frolicking through the snow. The clips give us a good idea of what the i8 will look like in motion. We're still not completely smitten with the roof-mounted sideview mirrors, and watching the i8 drive around on the ice and snow hasn't done anything to sway our opinion. We can't help but think that the pieces look like hippopotamus ears.<br />
<br />
It's impossible to tell whether the mule we see dashing through the snow is equipped with the same small-displacement diesel engine of the concept or whether this machine wears the turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that's rumored to debut with the production version. Following closely on the heels of the official images-and-press-blast debut of the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/12/2012-bmw-6-series-coupe-650i-reveal/">2012 BMW 650i</a>, BMW has let loose video footage of its next big coupe.<br />
<br />
Having lost the squared-off decklid of the last 6 Series, the 2012 650i is sleeker and more aggressively styled than the last generation. In motion, the coupe looks silky smooth, but ready to pounce thanks to its 400-horsepower twin-turbo V8.<br />
<br />
As pretty as this thing is, it's hard not to start squirreling your pennies away for this thing's Stateside launch. Pricing for the 650i is still a mystery, but we expect it will be pretty dear. Hamann has released the decidedly abrasive Tycoon EVO M, its take on the <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/model/x6+m">2011 BMW X6 M</a>. In typical Hamann fashion, everything about the car is completely beyond comprehension. First, Hamann added an entire herd of horsepower to the stock figure, kicking the total from an already absurd 550 to a stupefying 670. According to Hamannn, all that power translates into a 186-mile-per-hour top end.<br />
<br />
Outside, the big Bimmer has been widened by 60 millimeters, taking it from huge to gargantuan. Its new-found size is set off by a carbon-accented matte-black paint scheme sitting atop 23-inch wheels at all four corners, also in matte black. The taillights, roof rack, hood, rear spoiler, antenna and exhaust surround all get the carbon fiber treatment.<br />
<br />
Where things get truly insane is the interior, though, where Hamann has eschewed carbon fiber or aluminum trim in favor of Nanai Salmon Leather. Hamann says its as durable and luxurious as traditional interior leather, and carries the look and structure of <em>salmon skin</em>. In reality, it looks very similar to snake skin. Setting off the interesting trim choice is the usual litany of Alacantara-trimmed seats and quilted leather upholstery.
