EDF Energy take delivery of the first Peugeot iOn in the UK

The first Peugeot iOn has been sold and delivered to its new owner, EDF Energy.

Eric Salomon, Energy Field Services Director said ‘We are delighted to add the first Peugeot iOn to our fleet…EDF Energy fully supports the development of electric vehicles and believes the take-up of clean electric transport to be crucial to Britain meeting its carbon reduction targets.’

EDF Energy is Britain’s largest producer of low carbon electricity and is also leading the development of infrastructure for charging electric vehicles.

The iOn is also the first vehicle to qualify under the Government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles scheme, which supports electric vehicles by giving an at-purchase grant to reduce their cost by 25% or up to £5,000.
