Porsche Displays Ultra-Rare Type 64 at “Allure of the Automobile” Exhibit for 60th Anniversary
To celebrate their 60th anniversary in North America, Porsche is sponsoring “The Allure of the Automobile” – a fine art display at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art exhibition March 21st through June 20, 2010. The expo displays 18 vehicles in total, including one very rare specimen – the 1938/39 Porsche Type 64. The car has never been out of Germany, let alone a different continent, which will gives plenty of reason for car enthusiasts to visit the expo – particularly Porsche lovers The Type 64 is joined by 17 other cars from the “golden age of automobile design,” including Bugatti, Duesenberg, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Pierce-Arrow, Packard, Cadillac, Tucker and more, all from the 1930s to 1960s, including with another Porsche – the 1953 550 LeMans coupe.
