Golf R Variant here in LA,
Volkswagen of America has released pricing for the existing version of its top-of-the-line hot hatch.
The
2015 Volkswagen Golf R will start out at $36,595 (plus $820 destination). That's for the four-door model with the DSG which will launch initially, with the manual version to follow. Step up to the tech-laden Golf R with DCC and Nav and you'll be looking at $39,090 (before delivery), which just makes it under the $40k mark as delivered.
For all that scratch, you do get one heck of a pocket rocket, with a 2.0-liter turbo four kicking out 292 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed DSG and Haldex all-wheel drive system to reach 60 in 4.9 seconds and top out at 155 miles per hour.
With 36 more horses and 37 lb-ft more torque than its predecessor, this is the most potent
