VW Beetle is more powerful. VW plans to release a sport version of the VW Beetle called ‘Beetle R’.

As quoted from worldcarfans, Tuesday (04/25/2011) VW Beetle R got inspiration by Ragster concept, with a more sporty model through some touch of a dynamic and more masculine. In addition, the sport characters also more highlighted in the VW Beetle R. Differences standard Beetle and Beetle R is pretty clear.
VW Beetle R uses a more sporty bumper until sporty rear spoiler. There are also additional side body kit, and new design of head lamp, rim and sun roof.
There has been no official statement when the VW Beetle R produced. But this car is certainly going to get into the U.S..



Until now the engine that will be used in behind the hood of VW Beetle R is still a mysterious.

However, various engines offered for the new VW Beetle R, among them to North America 2,500 cc five-cylinder engine with a power 170 PS (125 kW/168 hp) and 200 PS (147 kW/197 hp) and 2,000 cc TDI engine producing 140 PS output (103 kW/138 hp).

In Europe, the choice of petrol engines consist of TSI with Bluemotion 1200 cc power 105 PS (77 kW/104 hp), TSI engines with 1400 cc power 160 PS (118 kW/158 hp) and 2,000 cc TSI that produces power 200 PS (147 kW/197 hp).
There is also a TDI diesel engine that could catapult 1600 cc power 105 PS (77 kW/104 hp) and 2,000 cc TDI is capable of spitting out 138 hp power. All reasonable engine mated to the transmission 7-speed dual-clutch.

VW Kicks off Production of the 2012 Beetle


VW has started production of the new 2012 Beetle at its plant in Puebla, Mexico.
"The Beetle is a strong symbol of our brand. It combines the emotional heritage of the original Beetle with the future of Volkswagen," Hubert Waltl said in Puebla. "At the same time, the new Beetle and the engine plant we are building in Silao represent the great confidence we place in Mexico as a manufacturing location. As one of the main manufacturers of compact class vehicles, Volkswagen de México is a key building block in our growth strategy for North America."
