<mainbody xmlns="">أعلن جاسم السليطي رئيس مجلس إدارة مواصلات القطرية عن تدشين أول سيارة تسير بالغاز. وأشار السليطي إلى أن أسطول الشركة سيكون من أحدث السيارات وتستخدم أحدث النظم والمعايير البيئية قبل تحويلها إلى الغاز .</mainbody>



وشدد السليطي على أن تحويل السيارات لكي تعتمد على الغاز المسال يعد واجبا وطنيا، وتساءل السليطي كيف تكون الدوحة عاصمة الغاز في العالم، ولا تعمل السيارات فيها بالغاز، وذلك بحسب ما نقلته وكالة أنباء "د.ب.إم" اليوم الأحد 16 سبتمبر / أيلول 2007.

وكشف السليطي بأن السيارات التي ستعمل بوقود الغاز سوف تخصص لنقل المسافرين من وإلى مطار الدوحة الدولي، لافتا إلى أن الشركة سوف تخصص نحو مائة وخمسين إلى مائتي سيارة لخدمة المطار. وأضاف السليطي بأن شركة مواصلات تنتظر الانتهاء من المحطة الرئيسة للتزود بالغاز، للبدء بهذه الخدمة.

وقال السلطي بأنه جرى البدء في هذه التجربة على أن تنتهي في العام المقبل بسيارات تعمل بالغاز تكون من ضمن منظومة العالم الحديث في ظل احتياجات دائمة إلى طاقة آمنة لدعم النمو الاقتصادي، والتنمية بدون الإضرار بالبيئة بهدف حماية الصحة العامة للمواطنين والمقيمين. لافتا إلى أن شركة "كروة" المعنية بتوفير خدمة سيارات الأجرة في قطر سوف تصل في فترة قريبة إلى معايير بتقييم شركات عالمية في هذا المجال.</pbody></p>
